HOTEL PHILOSOPHY
OUR CORE VALUES
I SERVE FROM
THE H E A R T
Our values are the soul and foundation of our company. They are the qualities from which we form our culture, define our character and build our brand. These values should always guide how we behave and treat each other and our guests. We should all hold them in high esteem and strive to uphold them each and every day.
HONESTY
I am honest
Honesty, integrity and fairness guide how I behave and make decisions. This moral code breeds trust and respect, which are the cornerstones of communication and teamwork.
EXCELLENT
I strive for excellence
My goal is to serve our guests with “excellence”. I strive to better myself and consistently deliver the best service experience to our guests every single day. Obtaining excellence is my path to perfection.
ART
I live and learn artistically
I value the beauty of art and its power to create an emotional connection. A universal form of communication, art also breaks down borders, bridges cultures and unites people. As such, I bring art into all aspects of service and aim to engage guests in something meaningful daily. I help create lasting and profound beauty in everything that I do.
RESPONSIBILITY
I am responsible
Being responsible is how I achieve success. I am fully accountable for my actions and attitude, which affect guests, colleagues and the quality of my work.
THAINESS
I am proud to be Thai
I respect my heritage and honour the distinguished beauty of Thailand’s traditions, especially our unique spirit of service. I am always respectful, graceful, helpful and sincere; I serve from the heart.
VISION STATEMENT
Our Vision is to provide our guests with a casual and personal, relaxed yet professional, intuitive service that creates the feel of a classic Miami South Beach Resort.
MISSION STATEMENT
To know and understand our guests, as individuals, and to use this knowledge to deliver personal and fun experiences while having fun ourselves.
KNOW THE GUEST — DO SOMETHING FOR THE GUEST — AND HAVE FUN WHILE YOU ARE DOING IT!
THE SUKOSOL FAMILY
Fondly dubbed the ‘musical hoteliers’ of Thailand, the Sukosol family are a multi-lingual, multi-tasking, multi-skilled, multi-talented
business dynasty.
Since our illustrious leader, Kamala, started it all 30 years ago, we have sojourned in a smorgasbord of establishments, from homey abodes to private palaces.
What inspires us most is the perfect balance of individuality, gracious service, cultural charm and a sense of serendipity. And we believe you will find that right here with us at our fabulous city property in downtown Bangkok, Thailand.
Our family have been single-handedly running The Sukosol (along with Sukosol Hotels and Sukosol Group) since the very beginning back in 1990, right through until today. We occupy various roles within the Sukosol Group, as follows: Kamala Sukosol, President; Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, Executive Vice President; Daranee Sukosol Clapp, Vice President of Finance; Kamol ‘Sukie’ Sukosol Clapp, Director of Projects and Krissada ‘Noi’ Sukosol Clapp, Creative Director.
ABOUT SUKOSOL HOTELS
Sukosol Hotels comprises five hotels, two located in Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok, and three in the Kingdom’s premier seaside resort city, Pattaya.
The group’s story began back in 1975 with the opening of the Siam Bayshore in central Pattaya on the quiet southern tip of Pattaya Bay between Bali-Hai Pier and famous Walking Street. Eight years later a second Pattaya property, The Bayview, was opened just down the road in the middle of Beach Road.
Then in 1990, Sukosol Hotels spread to Bangkok, opening up what would become the company’s flagship property, The Sukosol. This downtown property has gone on to become a mainstay of the City of Angels’ hospitality scene.
For the next decade everything progressed smoothly and successfully for the group and its three award-winning properties. However, never content to rest of their laurels, Sukosol Hotels opened a game-changing boutique property on the banks of Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River in mid-2012. The Siam is a 38-suite & villa luxury urban retreat that has already become a darling of the international jet-setting crowd.
And finally, Sukosol Hotels launched another new boutique property in March 2013: Wave Hotel. This 21-room hotel lies in the middle of Beach Road facing the ocean and is imbued with a truly unique and memorable Art Deco Miami South Beach-style decor, service and dining theme.
WHAT’S IN A NAME
Those of you familiar with us will know that we’ve made a few name changes over the years, which we shall explain for you now.
Originally our company was called ‘Siam City Hotels & Resorts’, staying this way until 2010 when we dropped the ‘City’ and became simply ‘Siam Hotels & Resorts’. However, to complement a group-wide re-brand under our parent company, Sukosol Group, in early 2012, we changed our name to ‘Sukosol Hotels’, in homage to our owning and operating family — the Sukosols. To go along with this re-vamp, we also changed the names of a few of our existing hotels, as follows: the Siam City Hotel became The Sukosol, the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa became simply Siam Bayshore and the Siam Bayview Hotel became The Bayview.
